Chrystian IV (ur. 12 kwietnia 1577, zm. 28 lutego 1648) – król Danii i Norwegii w latach 1588–1648 z dynastii oldenburskiej.

Kirsten Madsdatter (zm. 1613) – kochanka króla Danii Christiana IV, matka jednego z jego trzech uznanych synów króla Christiana Ulrika Gyldenløve.

Kirsten Madsdatter była prawdopodobnie córką burmistrza Kopenhagi Mathiasa Hansena, choć nie jest to pewne. Początkowo była damą dworu królowej Anny Katarzyny. Związek z królem rozpoczął się niedługo przed śmiercią królowej – syn Kirsten urodził się w 1611 roku, a królowa zmarła w roku 1612.

Kirsten zmarła w roku 1613 i została zastąpiona przez kolejną kochankę królewską Karen Andersdatter.

Karen Andersdatter (died 1673 in Copenhagen, Denmark) was the Danish mistress of King Christian IV of Denmark-Norway and the mother of one of his three illegitimate but acknowledged children, Hans Ulrik Gyldenløve.

Vibeke Kruse (died 1648) was the official mistress of King Christian IV of Denmark between 1629 and 1648. They had two children: Ulrik Christian Gyldenløve(1630–1658) and Elisabeth Sophie Gyldenløve (1633–1654). Christian openly acknowledged Kruse as his mistress and gave both of their children the surname Gyldenløve (lit. 'Golden Lion'), a naming practice used by Danish kings to acknowledge their illegitimate children.

She had particular influence over the king and as a result was the target of great criticism. Her two children were routinely pitted against the children of his second wife, Kirsten Munk.
